When tackling climate change, we face a fundamental challenge: how to drive meaningful change in society and its smaller units like organizations and communities? Transformation requires shifts in both individual mindsets and collective structures. While ideas abound, implementing lasting, regenerative change remains difficult. Why?

One key reason is our flawed perception of this change itself. Metaphors shape our understanding and actions. Too often, we treat systems like machines—predictable and controllable—when in contrast, they function more like ecosystems: dynamic, interconnected, and beyond full comprehension.

Bybonde Rob Weir and Systemic Organizational Developer Maren Drewes invite you to a small roof garden - a living example of a complex system. Here, we’ll explore how adopting an ecosystem perspective can reshape the way we engage with climate change.

What if we saw societies, organizations, and families as thriving gardens or forests, where every element is interwoven in a web of reciprocal relationships? How would that shift our approach?

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into the principles of regenerative systems, drawing insights from Lystgården’s garden design and care practices. Together, we’ll reflect on our experiences in the festival and discover new ways to contribute to climate action—rooted in nature’s wisdom.
